Connecting other tools

Connect CRM, email, shop and automation tools to your platform, read the setup status of each connection and disconnect what you no longer use.

In this article

Integrations connect your platform to the services you already work with, such as your CRM, your email tool, your shop or an automation tool. You connect a service once, and the connection belongs to the whole platform rather than to the person who set it up.

Who can connect tools

Integrations sits in the Integrations & API block of the settings menu. Your role needs Manage Integrations in addition to Update Platform Settings. The built-in Owner and Admin roles have it. Unlike the permissions for API keys and custom code, Manage Integrations can also be given to a custom role.

Adding an integration

Click Add Integration. The picker lists the available services in a rail on the left:

  • Popular collects frequently used tools. HubSpot appears there as a larger card with a New badge.
  • All Integrations shows every service at once.
  • Below Categories, each category has its own entry with a counter.

Search integrations at the top looks through names and descriptions across all categories. Pick a service to open its connect dialog.

Connecting a service

How you connect depends on the service:

  • Services that use a sign-in with the provider show Connect. It takes you to the provider, where you approve the access, and then back to your platform.
  • Services that work with keys or a web address show input fields instead, for example an API key, a token or a Webhook URL. Paste what the provider gives you and click Connect.

If the sign-in with the provider fails, you land back on the page with the message Connecting the account failed. and the reason below it.

A few services need more than one dialog:

  • Shopify opens its own page with a setup of its own.
  • Some checkout providers need a second step after connecting. Their row shows Setup required until it is done and offers Complete setup.

Zapier and Make

Zapier and Make run your automations on the platform API. On a plan that does not include them, both carry a Professional badge in the picker, and requests that arrive from Zapier or Make are refused.

Create Zaps at the top of the page opens the Zapier page with your workflows, and Manage Zaps in the row of a Zapier connection leads to the same page. Without the right plan, that page shows "Zapier is part of the Professional plan" together with Change plan.

Reading the list

Each connection appears as a row with Integration, Account, Mode and Setup. The Setup badge tells you whether the connection works:

  • Connected: the connection is active and fully set up.
  • Setup required: the connection is active, but a step is still missing.
  • Inactive: the connection is switched off.
  • Disconnected: the connection was interrupted. For a service with a sign-in, open it and click Reconnect to sign in with the provider again.

Changing or removing a connection

Click a connection in the list to open it. Stored keys and passwords are never shown again, only masked. To replace a stored key, enter the new one and click Save. A field you leave empty keeps the stored value.

Disconnect in the same dialog removes the connection right away, without a second question.

Note

Removing a connection, and connecting a service with keys or a web address, leaves an entry in the Audit Log: Integration connected or Integration disconnected, together with who did it.

Webhooks

Signed webhooks for member and payment events are set up on a page of their own. Webhooks appears in the settings menu after API once Payments is turned on under Settings > Features and your role may view payments. If Payments is off in your workspace, switch it on under Settings > Features.
