A number on its own says little. A goal measures it against where you wanted to be, and an alert watches it for you so you do not have to check every day.
Both live on the key figure itself. Hover a tile that supports them and a small icon appears in its corner; it opens a panel with the goal on top and the alert underneath.

Which figures support them
Goals and alerts exist for seven figures:
| Figure | Kind |
|---|---|
| Total Members | Snapshot |
| MRR | Snapshot |
| Active | Counted over time |
| Active rate | Counted over time |
| New members | Counted over time |
| Revenue | Counted over time |
| Churn | Counted over time |
The difference matters for the options below. A snapshot is a value at one moment, so a goal simply compares it with the target. A figure counted over time needs a window to count in.
The icon is hidden on phones. Set goals and alerts on a larger screen; they apply everywhere.
Setting a goal
Enter a Target value and save. Money is entered in your dashboard currency, shares in percent.
For figures counted over time, Measured over decides the window:
- Selected period counts inside whatever date range you are looking at, so the progress moves when you change the range.
- Calendar month always counts the current month, from the 1st to today, whatever range the dashboard shows. This suits a monthly revenue or sign-up target.
Once a goal is set, the tile shows a progress bar in place of its small chart, and the line underneath tells you how far you are.
A target for Churn works the other way round from the rest: you want to stay under it. An alert set to Above is usually the better tool there.
Setting an alert
Switch on Alert, then choose:
- Trigger when: Above or Below.
- Threshold: the value that must be crossed.
- Window in days, for figures counted over time: how many days back the alert counts. It starts at 30.
- Also send an email: on by default. Without it, the alert arrives only as a notification in the platform.
Alerts are checked once an hour. When a figure crosses its threshold, everyone with the Admin or Owner role is notified. After that the alert stays quiet for a day, even if the figure stays on the wrong side, so a bad week sends one message rather than one every hour.
Goals and alerts belong to the account, not to you. Your team sees the same goals, everyone with admin access gets the same alerts, and a change you make applies to all of them.
Removing a goal or an alert
Open the same panel, empty the target or switch the alert off, and save. The tile goes back to its small chart.
Milestones
Milestones need no setup. Once an hour the platform checks a few lifetime totals, and when one passes a round number, everyone with the Admin or Owner role gets a notification that links to the dashboard.
| Total | Milestones at |
|---|---|
| Members | 10, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 50,000, 100,000 |
| Community posts | 10, 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 |
| MRR | 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 50,000 in your dashboard currency |
| Lessons completed | 100, 500, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 |
Each milestone is announced once. A total that drops and climbs back over the same mark stays quiet, and a jump past several marks at once announces only the highest one. Milestones arrive in the platform only, never by email.
Where to go next
What each of these figures counts, and over which period, is in the glossary.
