A tour of the admin panel

Find your way around the navigation, the search and the header bar.

In this article

The admin area keeps the same shape on every page: navigation down the left by default, your content in the middle, actions along the top. You can move that navigation to a top bar in the design settings. Once you know those three areas you can find anything.

The main navigation

The bar down the left side is your way between the big areas of the platform. It is grouped so related things sit together.

  • Main holds your dashboard, your audience and your inbox.
  • Content holds community, courses, hubs and events.
  • Growth holds payments, affiliates and websites.
  • More holds automations and settings.

The list only shows what you have switched on. If you never turned on events, there is no events entry cluttering your menu.

Note

The bar collapses to icons when you need more room for your content. Click the Sidebar icon in the row of small icons under your logo to fold it in or out.

The page header

Every list page carries the same header: the page title or its tabs on the left, the list controls in the middle, the button that creates a new entry on the right. Which controls you see depends on the list and the view, but they come from one set: search, filters, sorting, Columns and the switcher between table, list and grid. Working with lists walks through each of them.

Press Cmd + K on a Mac or Ctrl + K on Windows anywhere in the admin area. The search opens over the page and looks across your members, orders, courses, events, products and settings at once.

It is usually faster than navigating. Type a member's name to open their profile, or type "domain" to jump straight to the domain settings.

Your dashboard

The dashboard is the first page after sign-in. It answers one question: what happened since I was last here.

The chart at the top tracks members over the period you choose in the date picker. Below it sit your plan limits, what you edited recently, and cards for the areas you have switched on. The tabs across the top split it into Overview, Audience, Content and Growth so you can look at one side of the business at a time.

You decide which cards appear and in which order. Click the sliders icon next to the date picker to start Customize dashboard, drag the cards into the order you want, hide the ones you never read, then save.

Settings

Settings has its own menu with five groups:

  • My platform for your general details, your login domain, the design, the login screen, the member dashboard and the member navigation.
  • Members & communication for your team and their roles, member fields, tags and notifications.
  • Features & content for features, integrations, media, locations and the trash.
  • Contract & legal for billing, legal pages, the cookie banner and the audit log.
  • For developers for the API, OAuth apps, single sign-on and custom code.

The search box at the top of that menu searches settings by keyword, so you can type "cname" and land on the domain page without knowing where it lives.
