Some of these words mean something specific in memberarea. This page is the reference for the rest of the Help Center.
The platform
Platform Your whole memberarea account: the admin area, the member area, your content and your settings.
Admin area Where you work. Reachable only by you and the people you invite as team members.
Member area Where your customers go after signing in. Carries your branding and your domain.
Feature A whole area of the platform that can be switched on or off, such as courses, community or payments. Sometimes called a component or a module. Switching one off hides it without deleting anything.
People
Member Someone who signs in to your member area. Your customer.
Team member Someone who signs in to your admin area. Your colleague. A different thing from a member, with its own list in settings.
Role A named set of permissions you assign to a team member. Decides which areas they can see and change.
Group A collection of members that carries access. Put someone in a group and they get everything that group can reach.
Contact Someone whose details you hold who is not necessarily a member yet, for example somebody who filled in a form.
Content
Hub A start page you assemble from rows and elements. Most platforms use one as the first thing a member sees.
Row A horizontal band on a hub. Holds one or more elements.
Element A single block inside a row: text, an image, a video, a course list, a countdown, a checklist. The pieces you build a hub from.
Course A structured set of lessons with progress tracking.
Module A group of lessons inside a course. The chapter level.
Lesson The page a member actually works through, holding video, text and downloads.
Area A section of your community that holds forums. Most communities need one.
Forum The place inside an area where posts live. A community usually has several, one per topic.
Dataset Your own table, board or gallery for data the built-in areas do not cover.
Selling
Product Something a member can buy. What it unlocks is up to you.
Variant A version of a product with its own SKU and stock, such as a size or a colour.
Price What a product costs and how often it is billed. A product can carry several, for example monthly and yearly.
Order A single purchase. Carries the payment, the customer and what was bought.
Subscription A recurring order. Keeps access alive as long as it is paid.
Checkout The pages a buyer moves through to pay.
Affiliate Someone who promotes your products for a commission.
Settings and structure
Business The tenant your platform runs as. One business, one platform, one set of members. The word appears in a few technical places.
Login domain The web address your members use to reach you.
Field A piece of information you store about a member beyond the built-in details.
Tag A label you attach to members to organise and filter them.
Integration A connection to another service, such as Stripe for payments or a shop system for orders.
Audit log The record of who changed what in the admin area, with timestamps.
