Members open their courses from Courses in their menu. This article follows them from the course list to a single lesson page and shows which of your settings change what they see. Everything here reflects the published version of a course, so your changes reach members once you click Update Course.
The course list
Courses lists every published course a member has access to, directly or through a group. Members switch between List view, the default, and Grid view, and the choice is kept for them. Each course shows its image, its name and the number of lessons. The list adds the learning time and a status: Start, Continue or Completed, next to a progress ring. The grid shows a progress bar instead. Once a certificate has been issued, a Certificate link downloads it.
A course that requires another course shows a lock and the hint "Complete … first" with the missing course. If several courses are missing, the hint shows how many are required. It cannot be opened until the required courses are finished.
Below the list, More courses offers courses the member can buy, each with Unlock. Depending on your upsell settings, a click opens the checkout or a Course preview with the contents and the description.
The course page
The header shows the course image, name and subtitle, the number of modules and lessons, the learning time and a badge with the progress, for example "40% complete", or Completed. The header layout applies to all courses and is set under Settings > Design > Courses.
Below the header sit up to three tabs:
- Modules lists the modules. When a module has been started but not finished, a Continue learning card with the module and a Continue button sits on top. Once the member has a certificate, a Course completed box with Download certificate takes its place.
- Information shows the Description, the Authors with name and picture and the Course Goals. The tab appears once at least one of them is filled in.
- Bookmarks lists the pages the member bookmarked in this course, with their number on the tab.
The side panel
You can place widgets next to the module list. Open the course, stay on the Content tab and click Add Widget to Side-Panel, then choose an element, for example a text, an image, a video, a countdown or upcoming events. Drag the widgets to change their order. Elements that belong to other areas, such as Continue Learning, My Certificates, community feeds or affiliate figures, are not offered here.
Members see the panel to the right of the course page and of every module page, and below the content on small screens. Like other content, a changed panel reaches members with Update Course.

How modules appear
Each module card shows its status the way the member experiences it:
- Visible: the number of lessons, the learning time and Start, Continue or Review, with a progress ring.
- After previous: "Complete the previous module to unlock" and Locked.
- On request: Request, which turns into Pending once sent.
- Drip, Time delayed and Date range: Available from with the date. After the end of a date range, the card says No longer available.
- Coming soon: the card shows Coming soon and cannot be opened.
- Hidden: the module does not appear at all.
A module that links to a website opens it in a new tab with Open, and a module that points to another course opens that course. A locked module does not open through a direct link either: the member sees "You do not have access to this page".
Lessons inside a module
The module page shows the module's image and description, the number of lessons and sections, a progress bar and how many lessons are done, and Module Completed at the end. Lessons are grouped by section. Each lesson shows its duration, its pages, attached files and the assignments to submit. Lessons in draft do not appear.
- A lesson on Coming soon says "This lesson is coming soon." and offers Notify me.
- In a section with Work through lessons step by step, the section shows Step by step and numbers its lessons. A lesson stays locked with "Complete the previous lesson to unlock" until the one before it is done.
- With Work through sections step by step, the sections are numbered, and the lessons of a section stay locked until every lesson in the sections before it is complete.
A course whose requirements are not met yet shows Prerequisites required with a tile per missing course, and the Modules tab shows Locked.
An exam module opens the exam instead of a lesson list.

Notify me for upcoming lessons
Notify me on a lesson that is coming soon changes to You will be notified. A second click cancels it. As soon as a publish makes the lesson visible, the member receives an email titled with the lesson name and "is now available" and an Open lesson button that leads to the course, plus an in-app notification. This works whether you publish from the course editor or from the course list. Each reminder is sent once, regardless of Notify members about new content.
Inside a lesson
The top of a lesson shows the section and module name and a ring with the progress in this section. On wide screens the section overview sits next to the lesson. On smaller screens Overview opens it as Section Overview. It lists the lessons of the section with their state and the pages of the current lesson, so members can jump between them. A lesson that a step by step section still holds back shows a lock and cannot be opened yet.
At the bottom of each page:
- Bookmark this page saves the page. Clicked again, it reads Remove bookmark.
- Give feedback lets the member rate the page, if lesson feedback is on.
- Back and Finish and next move between pages. On the last page, Finish Lesson leads to the next lesson, Next Section to the next section, or Finish Module back to the module.
If a page has required tasks or submissions, a counter shows what is still open, and the buttons wait until it is done. Below the page, a Next Lesson card shows what comes next. Multiple Choice and Multiple Select are checked on the server when the member clicks Check result.
Submissions and lesson feedback

Bookmarks
Courses > Bookmarks collects the bookmarked pages of all courses, grouped by course. Each course has Open course, can be collapsed, and Group by module sorts its pages by module. A search appears from two bookmarks on. The Bookmarks tab of a course shows the same for that course with Search bookmarks. Remove bookmark is available in both places.
The learning streak
Each day on which a member completes at least one lesson extends their learning streak. A missed day uses up a streak freeze if one is left. Members have two per month, refilled on the first of the month. Without a freeze, the streak starts again. At 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100 days the member receives a notification.
Members see their streak through the Streak element with the Source set to Learning streak or Both. Place it on a hub or in the course side panel. The learning streak is separate from the community streak.
Hiding a course or its progress
Two switches under Settings > General in the course change the member view. Both take effect with Update Course.
- Hide course in the overview, in the Hide in Overview box, asks for confirmation. The course then leaves the member's Courses list and the Courses list element on hubs, and it is no longer offered under More courses. Members still reach it through links in other courses or hubs, and the Continue Learning element keeps showing it.
- Show course progress, in the Course-Progress box, asks for confirmation when you switch it off. Members then see no percentages, rings or bars in the course list, on the course page, in modules and lessons, or in the Courses list element. Checkmarks for completed lessons and modules, Completed in the list and the course header, and the Certificate link stay. Progress is still recorded.
Checking it yourself
Choose View as member in the three-dot menu of the course header or of the course in the course list. The course opens in a new tab the way members see it, with your current draft. A bar at the bottom of the page reads Preview as member and "Draft version, nothing is saved." Under Enrolled you pick how long ago the simulated member joined, from Today to 90 days ago, to see drip modules open. Exit preview takes you back to the course editor.
In the preview, progress starts at zero, requirements between courses do not block, and bookmarks, feedback, reminders and answers are not stored.
Who can do what
Members need no permission, only access to the course. View as member, side panel widgets, Hide in Overview and Show course progress need Edit Course, and the Content tab also needs View Module. Module and lesson statuses need Edit Module. Update Course, which brings all of this to members, needs Publish Course.
