Growth Tools invite people to add your calendars and events to their own calendar app. Each tool is a small piece you share or place somewhere, and it can ask for a name, an email address and a few answers on the way.
Growth Tools belong to Events and sit under Events > Growth Tools. If Events is off in your workspace, switch it on under Settings > Features.
The types
When you create a tool, you pick its type:
- Landingpage: a page of its own with a link and a QR code.
- Button: a button you place on a page you control. It opens a window where people sign up.
- Box: a sign-up box that sits inside a page.
- Banner: a full-width strip with a headline and a button.
These types have their own article:
Calendars or events
Every tool starts on the Setup tab with a Method:
- Subscribe to Calendar connects people to one or more of your calendars. Add them with Add Calendar.
- Add event puts one of your events into a visitor's calendar app. Add events with Add Event.
This is how a tool belongs to an event: choose Add event and pick the event. With Subscribe to Calendar, a tool cannot be saved and you cannot leave the Setup tab until it has at least one calendar. With Add event, the same applies until it has at least one event. The message reads Please add a calendar. or Please add an event.
Creating a tool
Click New Growth Tool above the list. The window Choose Growth Tool Type shows the available types. Click one, and the tool is created straight away and opens in its editor.

A new tool is named after its type, for example "Button". If a name with that word already exists, a number follows, such as "Button #1". Click the name at the top of the editor to change it. The new name is saved as soon as you click elsewhere.
The form of a new tool already holds two questions: "Full Name" and "Email address". You can change or remove them on the Form tab.
Saving
Adding or removing a calendar, an event or a question takes effect at once. Everything else, such as texts, colors and the wording of your questions, is kept only when you click Save.
Active and inactive
A new tool starts inactive. That gives you time to set it up before anyone sees it.
While a tool is inactive, its public page shows Deactivated and "This Growth Tool is not active.", an embedded tool does not appear, and nobody can subscribe through it.
Switch a tool on with the status switch in the editor header, or in the list with Activate in the three-dot menu of its row. Deactivate switches it off again. Both take effect immediately, without Save.
Reading the numbers
The list shows three numbers for each tool:
- Impressions counts the IP addresses that opened a tool's own link or QR code while it was active, and everyone who signed up through it.
- Opt-Ins counts the IP addresses that subscribed.
- Conversion is opt-ins divided by impressions, shown as a percentage with one decimal.
Each IP address counts once per tool, however often it comes back.

Once the list holds two or more tools, a search appears above it. It finds a tool by its name, or by the title and description you set on its Share tab.
Copying and deleting
To copy a tool, open it and choose Duplicate from the three-dot menu in the header. Give the copy a name in Duplicate Growth Tool. The suggestion is the old name followed by (Copy). The copy takes over the saved settings, calendars, events and questions. The Meta Data from the Share tab and the numbers stay behind. It gets its own public address and starts inactive.
To delete a tool, choose Delete from the three-dot menu in the editor, or from the three-dot menu of its row in the list, and confirm. Its numbers are deleted with it.
Deleting cannot be undone. Any link, QR code or embed code you have handed out stops working.
Who can do what
Growth Tools use the event permissions of a role:
- View Events to see the list.
- Create Events to create and duplicate tools.
- Update Events to open the editor and change a tool.
- Delete Events to delete one.
To create a tool and then set it up, a role needs both Create Events and Update Events. You set them per role under Settings > Team & Roles.
