Bluesky is the one network that needs nothing from us and nothing from a review board. You create an app password in your own account, paste it here, and you are posting.
What you need on your account
- A Bluesky account. A normal one is enough, there is no business or professional variant.
- An app password, not your login password. Bluesky keeps the two apart on purpose: an app password can be revoked on its own without locking you out.
Connecting it
- In Bluesky open Settings, then Privacy and security, then App passwords, and add one. Give it a name you will recognise later, for example memberarea.
- Copy the password Bluesky shows you. It is shown once.
- Here, open Social Media, then Channels, and click Connect on the Bluesky tile.
- Enter your handle (for example
you.bsky.social) and the app password.
What it can do
- Text posts
- Up to four images per post
- Alt text on every image
- Scheduling and the calendar
- Replies from your inbox
What it cannot do yet
- Video
- Threads of several posts in a row
- Polls
When it does not work
The connect is refused. Nine times out of ten the login password was used instead of the app password. Create an app password and try again.
The handle is not found. Enter it without the leading @, and with the full domain: you.bsky.social, not you.
