A marketing badge shows visitors of your website what a course contains: how many modules, lessons and minutes of video it has. The figures are calculated by the platform, not typed in, and every badge links to a verification page that confirms them. Each course has its own badge.
What a badge shows
Every badge shows the course name and three figures:
- Modules: every module in the course.
- Lessons: the lessons with the status Visible. Lessons on Draft or Coming soon do not count.
- Video: the sum of the page durations of those lessons, in minutes. From 60 minutes on, it shows hours with one decimal.
If you switch on Show participant count, a fourth figure shows how many members have access to the course, directly or through a group. Each member counts once.
Which modules count follows the published version of the course. Lessons and minutes are read from those modules as they are now, so a lesson you set to Visible or a page duration you change shows up without publishing. A course that is not published uses its latest draft, and the badge settings show "Draft course. Publish it to show live figures."

Turning badges on
Open a course, go to the Settings tab and pick Marketing Badge. While badges are off, the page shows Badges are turned off. Click Turn on, or switch on Publicly visible at the top. The switch saves right away.
Once badges are on, the page shows two boxes: Marketing information and Choose a badge design.

Choosing and customizing a design
Choose a badge design shows every design with your course's real figures:
- Large badge with thumbnail, with the course image and your workspace name.
- Compact badge (standard), a small card.
- Long badge (standard), Long badge (light) and Long badge (transparent).
- Row badge (standard), Row badge (light) and Row badge (transparent), a single line with a short sentence.
Click a design or its Customize link. The Customize marketing badge dialog opens with a live preview and these options:
- Language: the language of the badge text.
- Alignment: Left or Centered.
- Corner rounding: None, Small, Medium or Large.
- Show participant count, under Additional settings.
Show participant count is saved as soon as you change it and applies to every badge of this course, including badges you already embedded. Language, alignment and rounding are not stored. They become part of the embed code.

Embedding the badge on your website
- In Customize marketing badge, click Generate badge.
- The Badge code dialog opens. Copy the code under Embed code.
- Paste it into your website where the badge should appear, for example in an HTML block of your page builder.
- Close the dialog with Done.
Below the code, a preview shows the badge as it will look. A row badge fills the width of its container. A compact badge is up to 320 pixels wide, a large or long badge up to 630 pixels. The height adjusts automatically.
You can place several badges, also in different designs, on the same page. To change the look of an embedded badge, generate it again and replace the code on your website.
The badge loads its figures each time it is shown. After you publish a change, an embedded badge can take up to five minutes to show the new figures.
The verification page
A click on an embedded badge opens the verification page in a new tab. It runs on the platform's domain, not on your website, so visitors can trust the figures. To see it yourself, use Preview the landing page in the Badge code dialog, or Landing page in the Marketing information box.
The page shows the course name and image, the same figures as the badge, a verification ID and the time of the check. Below that, it introduces you as the provider with the details from Marketing information, along with the date your workspace was created.
Marketing information
Click the Marketing information box to open it. Its fields fill the provider section of the verification page:
- About the provider: a short text about you, up to 2000 characters. Without it, the page uses the description of your workspace.
- Company, Contact email and Address. Empty fields are left out.
- Provider image: an image in 16:9 format. Without it, the page shows your workspace logo.
There is no save button. Changes are saved after a short pause, and Saving and Saved tell you when. The marketing information applies to every course in your workspace, so you fill it in only once.
Fill in the marketing information before you embed the first badge. It is the first thing a curious visitor reads about you.
Turning a badge off
Switch off Publicly visible. Embedded badges then disappear from your website, and the verification page is no longer reachable. The code stays valid: when you turn the badge on again, the same code shows it again.
Who can do what
Everything on the Marketing Badge page needs the permission Edit Course. This includes the marketing information, even though it applies to all courses.
