Pinterest is straightforward to connect. The one thing to know is the access tier: on a trial app, pins are created but stay visible to their creator alone.
What you need on your account
- A Pinterest business account. Converting a personal one is free and takes a minute.
- At least one board. Every pin needs a board to land on.
Connecting it
- Open Social Media, then Channels.
- Click Connect on the Pinterest tile.
- Pick the account on Pinterest's screen and allow access.
- Back here, open the channel and set a default board. You can still pick a different one per post.
What it can do
- One image per pin
- Title, description and destination link
- Board per post
- Scheduling and the calendar
What it cannot do yet
- Video pins
- Idea pins
- Several images in one pin
- Comments in the inbox
When it does not work
The board list is empty. The account has no board yet, or the connect predates it. Create a board on Pinterest, then reload the list.
The post says Only you can see this pin. Our app is still on Pinterest's trial tier. The pin exists in your account, it is simply not public yet. It becomes public once Pinterest grants standard access.
